Stefan Peterson Ph.D.

Administrative Director of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Science and Technology Policy (COPA-STEP) Program

: Stefan is the Program Director and Co-Founder of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Science and Technology Policy (COPA-STEP) Program. He earned his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania. As a graduate student, Stefan served as the Science Policy Chair of the Penn Science Policy and Diplomacy Group, where he trained hundreds of STEM graduate students to effectively communicate their research to policymakers and the public. He was also a key member of the COPA-STEP founding team, helping drive the fundraising, strategic planning, and advisory efforts that shaped the program into what it is today.
