Wagner Anthroengineering Lab
Welcome to the Wagner Anthroengineering Lab. Our research involves anthroengineering and ELSI research.
But what exactly does that mean?
Anthroengineering
As expressed by the anthroengineering research community, anthroengineering is “the synthesis of anthropological and engineering theories and methods to solve problems and build innovative technologies using a human-centric – societal, cultural, linguistic, and biological – engineering approach.”
ELSI Research
Simply stated, ELSI research refers to: research regarding the “Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications” of human genetics and genomics. It has more recently extended beyond the genome into other scientific/technological areas.
